As with any content management system, organization of unstructured content is paramount to the ability for such a system to serve as an adequate repository. If users cannot locate content easily after it is put into the system, the value of the system is diminished. HighPoint sees this as a multifaceted problem rooted in all aspects of information architecture. Typically information architecture is thought to be limited to the taxonomy and metadata design for the content itself. This thought has limited many content management system users’ ability to locate content. Information architecture needs to be considered from the depths of the content attribute and hierarchical structure to the interface for delivering it as well.

HighPoint has expertise in both the development of the typical back-end information architectural concepts such as metadata and taxonomy design, but also has deep knowledge of how to develop robust interfaces for users to utilize the metadata and taxonomy to actually find the content. In doing this, we follow a very agile software development methodology that involves almost daily prototyping as more and more content as added to the system to ensure results are coming back as expected.
